Languaging

I've always had a deep interest in languages. When I was younger, my dad kept telling me to study english. But I found it so easy and accessible, that I wanted to invest money and time into studying something a bit more alien. So I went for the russian language.

Many people make a perplex face and ask me 'Why? Why?' if I tell 'em that. Well, I dunno why, but I can tell that it was worth it. I can't really hold a fluent conversation in russian yet, but the whole getting alphabetized again, and having to learn a completely new wording and conjugation system worked wonders for my language learning abilities.

A new hack in reality comes to light

To hack... To delve deep into the workings of a system, to learn its inner workings and to manipulate it for fun or for a purpose.

That is my one approach to everything. Except maybe my cats. The little furry bastards seem un-hack-able for now. Sometimes it even feels like I'm the one being subjected to sophisticated experimentation...

Well that's my project. To hack reality. Day 1: Learning a programming language. It all started when I came across the fact that Civ 5, soon to be the awesomest game on Earth, upon final release, is largelly built on this Brazilian (or as we like to put it here, Tupiniquim) programming language: Lua. I was so infatuated with new found national pride that I was soon downloading beginner's guides to Lua and to Python. And the journey begins...

As soon as I get some Marketing and Finance studying out of the way, at least. Back to Kotler for now.
